I'm going to try to teach myself probability...
I'm going to attempt to teach myself the basics of probability by working my way through Introduction to Probability by Joseph K. Blitzstein and Jessica Hwang. The book has a companion site with links to lecture videos, handouts and additional materials.
The plan is to try to tackle a chapter a week. That is probably a bit optimistic but we will see how it goes.
Beyond forcing myself to take notes I’m also using this blog as a way to get more familiar with Jekyll and using Jekyll in GitHub Pages.
I’m using the Kiko theme for Jekyll, as a starting point and working on customizing it to my needs for the site. For example, I’ve added front matter to the post template that, when present, will embed the youtube video for the lecture I am discussing at the top of the post.
